Scientific Guidelines for Designing Resilient Marine Protected Area Networks in a Changing Climate
[T]his document, Scientific Guidelines for Designing Resilient Marine Protected Area Networks in a Changing Climate, was developed from a larger report by the Study Group on Designing Marine Protected Area Networks in a Changing Climate (SGMPAN), a joint study group of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) through its North American Marine Protected Area Network (NAMPAN) Technical Group and the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES).
These guidelines were produced to promote best practices, consistency of approach and collaboration, when designing marine protected area (MPA) sites and MPA networks, between managers, planners and scientisits studying climate change effects on population, habitats and ecosystems.
